Armlift or Brachioplasty is a cosmetic surgical procedure to remove excess skin and contour the upper arms. With age and weight flucuations the upper arms are prone to accumulate excess tissue that will not resolve with diet and exercise. Both men and women can benefit from brachioplasty. One of our surgeons will meet with you to discuss the procedure in detail. There are two main procedures used for brachioplasty. One is to excise the excess tissue and repair the remaining tissue. The other procedure is to use liposuction to remove excess fat under the skin. On occasion it may be recommended to have a combination of both of the procedures. Only your plastic surgeon will know which of these procedures is best for you. The procedure is done in a hospital and you will be able to return home the same day. You can expect bruising, swelling and discomfort in the arms. Your surgeon may recommend a special compression garment to be worn all day and night for the first few weeks.
